THE TREASURE
In the forest darkness There dwells a little efl Quietly he’s creeping And tries to hide himself Ever so slowly He ventures through the night Looking for a treasure That’s hidden out of sight.
Fairy Marigolden, she sees him down below Quietly she watches to see where he will go Curiosity, grabs a hold of her So she decides to follow him And see what will occur
Soon Little Elfie Greenie He digs a real deep hole Carries up a box That contains a lot of gold Carefully he covers it And steals on through the night Back to his elf dwelling He runs with all his might
Then Little Elfie Greenie He opens up the box Out popped Marigolden What a paradox! I don’t know who you are Elfie Greenie did say But you I’d rather have Than a treasure any day
Don’t know how I got here Marigolden did reply Must be some kind of magic This I don’t deny But I am glad to meet you Marigolden is my name And I am Elfie Greenie So happy that you came
Soon Little Elfie Greenie And Fairy Marigolden Got married shortly after And had many happy children So you see that friendship And love is better than gold The heart is the true treasure Most beautiful to behold!
